“Cinema was better in the old days.” The phrase comes up often, almost as if it were self-evident. It pops up as people leave a theater, during a conversation about streaming platforms, or when faced with the avalanche of franchises and remakes. But does this nostalgia say anything about cinema itself… or rather, about our relationship with time…?
